So I have to confess something: I don’t drink coffee. I know, I know — how can I write about something I don’t drink? When I was first asked to come up with a CBD pumpkin spice latte recipe, I was stumped.

I never understood what all the latte fuss was about. I thought all lattes were just coffee pumped with sugar syrups. Then I started my research on pumpkin spice lattes for this recipe.

I was side-swiped; that heavenly, spiced silkiness that comes from that first bite of whipped-cream-topped pumpkin pie at the start of the holidays and the happy smile from that once-yearly pumpkin blizzard could be put into a coffee. Now I get it. I’m a believer; it’s absolutely delicious!

This seasonal delicacy is what the word “fall” would taste like if it were a food.

And we’re giving this trendy favorite an even trendier twist.

As always, CBD is the perfect additive to make this fall favorite even more decadent and relaxing, especially during the season of shopping and relative visits. Wrap yourself up in some warm pumpkin goodness.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious drink:

  • 1/3 cup canned 100% pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 40 milligrams water-soluble CBD or a cinnamon-flavored CBD
  • 1 cup strong coffee, espresso or instant coffee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup whipped cream, fresh or ready made

Whether you serve this CBD pumpkin spice latte for breakfast or as a decaf version after dinner, you will be ready for whatever comes your way this season.

CBD Pumpkin Spice Latte

Yield 4 Cups

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup canned 100% pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 40 milligrams water-soluble CBD or a cinnamon-flavored CBD
  • 1 cup strong coffee, espresso or instant coffee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup whipped cream, fresh or ready made

Instructions

  1. Measure then add the first 9 ingredients into a 4-quart saucepan and whisk all together.
  2. Heat over medium high till it just comes to a boil. Whisk often. Do not over-boil or the milks will separate.
  3. Whisk in your CBD till incorporated
  4. When hot, pour into 4 mugs and top with whipped cream. Sprinkle some extra spice on top and enjoy.

Notes

  • If using CBD, you can add more or less depending on your needs.
  • You can also use 2 teaspoons pumpkin spice mix instead of separate spices if it’s easier to find.
