Are you looking for a fun and simple Halloween craft to make with your little ghouls? It’s time to craft up an un-boo-lievable Halloween or Day of the Dead picture frame, created by Crafty Chica, perfect for displaying a photo of your kiddos trick-or-treating in their adorable costumes.
This simple picture frame craft is easy to make, which makes it a great craft choice for a classroom or scout meeting. Younger kids can make this craft with a bit of help from grown-ups. For toddlers or preschoolers, you might need two different crafting sessions — the first session for painting (be sure to protect the table surface, and have the child wear a smock or paint shirt), and then a second session for adding stickers (once the paint has dried).

Supplies can be found at your local craft store or dollar store. You’ll need a wooden frame, acrylic craft paint and paintbrushes, Mardi Gras beads, glue (either hot glue or white craft glue), googly eyes, plastic flat-backed gems, and, of course, a selection of Halloween or Day of the Dead stickers.
Begin by painting the frame. Protect your work surface with newspapers or a vinyl tablecloth, and then paint the wooden frame using acrylic craft paint. Paint the edge of the frame a contrasting color, if desired. When you are happy with your painted frame, let it dry.
After decorating, you can insert a photo to use the finished product as a frame, or insert glass to use it as a message board.

Sort the stickers by size
Once the frame is dry, it’s time to do the fun part — adding Halloween stickers! Before you decorate, separate your stickers by size.
Decorate the frame with large stickers
Now that your stickers are sorted, you can start decorating the frame.
Start with the large stickers and place them in a balanced fashion around the frame.
Use the glue to permanently secure the stickers. Older kids can use a low-temp hot-glue gun (with adult supervision), or any kid can use white craft glue.
Add smaller stickers to the frame
Once you’ve placed the larger stickers, fill in the frame with the smaller stickers.
Add gems and googly eyes as accents
Now that the frame is covered with stickers, fill in any gaps by gluing googly eyes and gems to the empty spaces.
Glue the beads to the frame
Hot glue the strand of Mardi Gras beads around the entire frame. Cut the string between beads to trim the strand to fit the frame.
How to use the frame
You can insert a photo to use the finished product as a frame, or you can insert a plain (or patterned) piece of scrapbooking paper under the glass and use it as a message board. Use dry erase markers to write on the glass.
How easy was that?
Spookily adorable, and totally unique!
