The Boston-based company Grillo’s Pickles created this unique gift idea as part of a segment for Today Food.
“Not only is a pickle bouquet more beautiful than a dozen red roses and healthier than a standard box of chocolate, it’s also far more creative,” Travis Grillo, founder and CEO of the company, told Today, adding, “We know there are a lot of pickle lovers out there that would love nothing more than to get a Valentine’s Day gift loaded with their favorite snack.”

How do you get your hands on this briny bouquet? Unfortunately, you can’t pay for a premade one to be delivered to your Valentine’s Day date — yet (but give it a minute — it’s only a matter of time).
As you may have guessed, Grillo’s does hawk their pickled products through retailers, just not in bouquet form. You can go sweet or spicy, perhaps depending on the nature of your love. “Grillo’s Hot Italian Dill pickles make it easy for consumers to spice things up with their hottie, while the brand’s Bread & Butter pickles offer a low-cal treat for sweeties nationwide,” Grillo said of the company’s flavors.
Even if you don’t purchase your pickles through Grillo’s, though, these pickle pros shared their tips for creating a bouquet that’s sure to make your significant other’s lips pucker.
First step? Pickles, obviously!

You’re going to need to make a pickle run, and Grillo recommends you grab a variety: spears, chips, baby, whole and both sweet and spicy. You’ll also need to toss some sturdy kebab skewers and toothpicks in your cart. If you don’t have a vase on hand at home, you’ll need one of those, too.
Then you get creative. Channel your inner florist to craft an aesthetically pleasing — not to mention palatable — edible arrangement. Stick your pickles on the toothpicks and skewers as you see fit.
If you want to take your pickle bouquet to the next level, consider adding fresh sprigs of dill or baby’s breath. You could even expand your pickled product base to include other pickled items like pickled okra, pickled sausage, pickled beets and pickled eggs in your pickle bouquet.
